Marian Lupu urges prosecutor general and home minister to temporarily leave posts

Head of Parliament Marina Lupu advised Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubko to suspend himself from post for the period of the investigation into the Paciu case so as to ensure the inquiry’s objectivity. The Prosecutor General’s Office provided no related details yet, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a press briefing on January 14, Marian Lupu said that he had a meeting with Valeriu Zubko, where he was informed about the December 23 accident. Valeriu Zubko assumed responsibility for the inappropriate way that this case was reported. The Speaker considers that Minister of the Interior Dorin Recean should also suspend himself from post. He called on all the politicians to stop speculating on the man’s death Sorin Paciu was wounded mortally during hunting that involved government officials. The vice president of the Chisinau Court of Appeals Gheorghe Cretu is investigated for unintentional murder in this case.
