The chairman of the Democrat Party (PDM) Marian Lupu said he expected political provocations before the June 16 congress of the party. He referred to the recent information according to which First Deputy Speaker Vlad Plahotniuc, who is the deputy chairman of the PDM, is involved in the cases of raider attack on Moldovan banks that are examined by a London court, Info-Prim Neo reports. “I expected all kinds of provocations and speculations, attacks on persons and on the Democratic Party in this period. But these attempts are clumsy and will never achieve their goal. I think that Mister Plahotniuc will make comments on this subject after the congress,” Marian Lupu told the journalists. The Communist parliamentary group Friday demanded suspending Vlad Plahotniuc from the post of First Deputy Speaker while the cases of raider attack on Moldovan banks, in which Vlad Plahotniuc is allegedly involved, are examined because Moldova’s image is affected. Marian Lupu refused to put the suspension of Vlad Plahotniuc to the vote, arguing such acts are done according to a different procedure.
