Marian Lupu reiterates he has all votes needed

The ruling alliance’s candidate for the presidency Marian Lupu restated that he secured the votes needed to be voted in, but refused to say which of the MPs outside the alliance will support him. “I have reasons not to reveal certain things. It will be stupid to make them public. Even if I do not make this information public, in the current conditions in Moldova it will become known in half an hour. What will the party of which these persons form part do then?” Marian Lupu told the journalists during an event. The leader of the PDM also said that he wouldn’t have applied for the candidacy, if he hadn’t had the votes needed to be elected. On December 16, the alliance must be united, he stressed. Later today Marian Lupu is to submit the required documents to the special commission for being registered as a candidate for the presidency. Afterward, he will open consultations with the parties in order to discuss the behavior on December 16.
