Democratic MP Marian Lupu is the only aspirant for the post of president of the Court of Auditors. The Parliament’s commission on economy, budget and finance in its February 5 meeting examined the file and decided that the candidate meets all the conditions for being admitted to the public contest, IPN reports.

The candidate will have an interview on Februarys 6, starting at 11am, during the meeting of the commission on economy, budget and finance. If he passes the interview stage, Marian Lupu will be proposed to Parliament for confirmation, IPN reports.

The contest to choose the president of the Court of Auditors was announced after Veaceslav Untila tendered his resignation following his nomination for the post of director of the Administration Board of the National Agency for Energy Regulation.

The president of the Court of Auditors is named by Parliament decision for a five-year term.
