“I’m ready to tender my resignation when I see that this is crucial for determining the new model of re-forming the Government. I’m ready to take this step and this should be clear for everyone,” said Speaker Marian Lupu, the leader of the Democratic Party (PDM), Info-Prim Neo reports. “I do not keep to posts. I’m ready to become an ordinary lawmaker if this helps ensure an efficient Government that will solve this multitude of economic and social problems and will do a real European reform,” Marian Lupu said in the program “Moldova live” on the public TV channel. He also said that he was ready to offer his resignation from the post of Head of Parliament immediately after Vlad Filat resigned as Premier, in accordance with the ‘zero variant’ proposed by the PDM. In such conditions, Vlad Filat could have remained Prime Minister if he had been proposed again for this post. Before the March 5 sitting, where Parliament passed a no-confidence vote against the Government by 54 votes in favor, the Democratic Party insisted on the ‘zero variant’ after the Liberal Democratic Party withdrew from the agreement on the formation of the AEI. According to this variant, the Premier and the Speaker were to resign one after the other.
