Vlad Plahotniuc has a high rating inside the Democratic Party (PDM), while wrestler Constantin Tutu was wanted by voters. This is how the leader of the PDM Marian Lupu explained the presence of the two on the party’s list of candidates for seats of MP, IPN reports.

In the program “Politics” on TV 7 channel, Marian Lupu explained that the rating of the persons included on the PDM’s list of candidates was determined by voting. Plahotniuc’s rating is rather high so that he is the second on the list. “We can say about all our politicians that they do not have an irreproachable reputation and Mister Plahotniuc is not an exemption. We took into account the rating inside and outside the party. I’m not bothered by the assertions that the PDM is Plahotniuc’s party,” he stated.

As to Constantin Tutu, the Democratic leader said that he was nominated by voters in the party’s primary. “The rating of persons was set by voting. Based on this rating, we chose 101 people, while the National Council compiled the list. This council includes over 280 people,” added Marian Lupu.

Asked about the absence of some of the PDM’s activists from the list, such as Stela Jantuan, Andrei Popov and Valeriu Lazar, Marian Lupu said that they also have to resort to reforms, while some of these persons either didn’t want to run in the elections or left the team of the PDM. In the same connection, the leader of the PDM denied that the list with the top 20 candidates was compiled by Vlad Plahotniuc.
