The leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova Marian Lupu was elected co-president of the EURONEST Parliamentary Assembly in a meeting of the Assembly’s Bureau in Strasbourg on November 23, IPN reports.
Marian Lupu said that as co-president, he will aim to ensure a greater presence of Moldova on the European agenda. “I assumed a firm commitment to contribute to promoting Moldova’s European course, including by intensifying the relations at parliamentary level with the European Union,” stated the Moldovan MP.
The EURONEST Parliamentary Assembly is the inter-parliamentary forum in which members of the European Parliament and the national parliaments of Ukraine, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia participate. It consists of MPs of the five EaP member states and of representatives of the European Parliament.
Marian Lupu will hold the co-presidency of the EURONEST PA alongside Finish MEP Heidi Hautala
