The Democratic parliamentary group decided to accept the 14 MPs of the Social-Democratic Platform into its ranks. In a press briefing, Democrat Marian Lupu said the decision of the 14 MPs is a responsible one and it will contribute to Moldova’s modernization through the implementation of the Association Agreement with the European Union, IPN reports.
Marian Lupu said he knows well many of those who decided to join the Democratic parliamentary group and is sure that they will cooperate efficiently in such a format. Now that the MPs of the Social-Democratic Platform joined the Democratic parliamentary group, this has 34 members and is thus the largest in Parliament.
Violeta Ivanov, a member of the Social-Democratic Platform, reminded that the Social-Democratic group on January 20, 2016 gave a vote of confidence to the Filip Government with the aim of stopping the chaos in the Republic of Moldova. The Government showed that it can bring things in order in the Customs Service, the Fiscal Service and can restore the partnerships with many of the international institutions.
Violeta Ivanov noted she understands that it is hard to overcome the frustrations, but Moldova needs a stable government to ensure the irreversibility of the European course.
On December 21, 2015, 14 MPs left the Communist parliamentary group and on December 24 announced the formation of the Social-Democratic Platform.
