The speaker of the parliament, Marian Lupu considers necessary to elaborate and promote in the near future the Law on social protection of the persons with disabilities and of their families. It is also necessary for the Government to approve the National Program for rehabilitation and social integration of these persons. The head of the legislative declared on Wednesday at the launching Conference of the Communication Campaign in the area of inclusive education which regards the young persons with disabilities, that at present in the Republic of Moldova a quite good legislative framework exists, which directs the policies the state will have to develop in order to socially and educationally integrate these persons, especially the young ones. According to him, at present the state’s policies can be found in the Law on Education, the General Action Plan for Human Rights, The Strategy of Economic Growth and Poverty Reduction, National Strategy on Education for All etc. Lupu expressed his conviction that in the process of elaborating and adopting new draft laws and decisions is necessary to apply the principles of collaboration between legislative and the responsible persons of the civil society and those organizations that represent the interests of young persons with disabilities. Although, he mentioned that at the moment the actions undertaken for supporting young persons with disabilities are supported financially more due to the bilateral and multilateral donors, Lupu considers that the Governmental structures and the local public administration must involve more actively for expanding the public financing. The speaker of the parliament mentioned that the development goals of a modern and democratic state, of European orientation, which Moldova already assume, oblige it to impose a series of exigencies. The main premise is the necessity to create a righteous society, where each member should feel equal between them. “No social group must feel unappreciated and this thesis refers firstly to the group of persons with disabilities and particularly to the young persons and students with disabilities”, the head of the legislative added, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
