The chairman of the Democratic Party (PDM) Marian Lupu and Romanian Premier Victor Ponta visited the Mother and Child Institute in Chisinau. On this occasion, the two announced that following a discussion between the PDM and the Social Democratic Party of Romania, the Romanian state will allocate €730,000 for supporting the campaign “Revive Moldova” that is designed to raise funds for modernizing this maternity hospital, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the PDM.
“I thank Victor Ponta for the swiftness by which he answered and intervened to support the campaign “Revive Moldova. I’m glad that being part of the same political family, we focus on projects centering on people’s needs. Namely such assistance proofs apply to families, mothers and children, the country’s future,” stated Marian Lupu.
Victor Ponta congratulated the initiators of this campaign (first deputy chairman of the PDM Vlad Plahotniuc, who founded the charity foundation Edelweiss). “This is an extraordinary gesture! I congratulate those who launched this project and thank them for telling us how important it is. For me, it will be an honor to support all your projects,” he stated.
The Romanian Premier sent himself an SMS to the number 9944 to donate this way money for the maternity hospital’s renovation within the campaign “Revive Moldova”. The donation of €730,000 made by the Romanian state will be transferred to the medical institution’s bank account according to the ordinary procedures.
