Sergey Marghiev has qualified for the final of the World University Games- Taipei 2017 in hammer throw. The 24-year-old athlete achieved the best result in the qualifying competition - 72.59 meters. The final was scheduled for August 24, IPN reports.
Andrian Mardare qualified for the javelin throw final. He obtained the fourth best result in the qualifying round - 77.69 meters – and was outstripped by Germany’s Andreas Emil Hofmann (83.51m) and the representatives of Taipei Chao-Tsun Cheng (81.54m) and Shih-Feng Huang (77.78m). The final will take place on August 26.
In taekwondo, Stepan Dimitrov passed only one stage. In the 58 kg class, Stepan beat Chile’s Joaquin Sanchez Cabrera 28-15, but was then eliminated by Russia’s Gulzhigit Kochkorbaev 8-9.
