The March for Life 2019 “Unique from the first second” will take place on Saturday, March 23, in Chisinau and 370 other places throughout the country. Organizers say the event is meant to promote life and awareness about the gift of life, IPN reports.
In Chisinau, participants will gather at 12.00 at Municipal Hospital no 1 and will start marching towards the Great National Assembly Square at 12.30. Around 13.00, a Live for Life concert will the organized in the Square.
Nadeja Usatii, chairwoman of the Moldova for Life association, thinks that pregnant women in a crisis must be helped by social workers and other responsable public servants, and supported by the rest of society. She encouraged women to resist abortion pressures, to overcome their fears and to give birth to the baby.
Nadejda Usatii wants more supports mechanisms for pregnant women in crisis, including specialized centers. Moreover, she thinks that there should be a legal possibility for women who don’t think they would be able to raise their children to give them up for adoption immediately after birth. Similar models exist in the USA, the UK and Australia, says the activist.
The chairwoman of the Moldova for Life association says that in such cases it is the crisis, not the child who should be eliminated. According to her data, 12,000 abortions were recorded in 2018 in Moldova. This is the 5th edition of the March for Life.
