The Constitutional Court confirmed the results of the presidential elections of November 15 and validated the mandate of President-elect Maia Sandu. The decision was pronounced on December 10, IPN reports.

CC president Domnica Manole said the decision is final and cannot be appealed. It takes effect when it is adopted and is published in the Official Gazette.

At the start of the meeting, the representative of candidate Igor Dodon asked to put off the CC’s meeting for the reason that there is a claim against Maia Sandu that didn’t go through all the judicial stages. The request was rejected.

According to the documents submitted by the Central Electoral Commission, the candidate proposed by the Party of Action and Solidarity Maia Sandu in the presidential runoff won 943,006 votes, while candidate Dodon Igor, who was put forward by the people’s assembly, gained 690,615 votes.
