A resident of Sangerei district who was found guilty of kidnaping, raping and murdering a minor girl from Drochia was sentenced to life imprisonment. The culprit admitted his guilt, IPN reports.
The crime was committed in Hasnasenii-Mari village of Drochia district, where the victim lived, on January 13 this year. After singing Christmas carols through the village together with other children, the seven-year-old girl was heading home. The culprit lured her with candies and took her on the outskirts of the village. He raped her near a well situated close to a former tractor brigade. The girl knew the man as this was related to her stepfather.
The girl’s body was found by a shepherd in five days. The psychiatric-psychological examination showed the culprit was competent.
The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
