The man who, in early October, kidnapped a 10-year-old child in a village in the Anenii Noi district has been declared unfit to be held responsible following the conclusions of a psychiatric forensic expert report. Doctors found him to be a danger to society and indicated forced treatment. The information was confirmed to IPN by Violina Moraru, in charge of the Prosecutor General's Office's communication with the media.
"Currently the defendant is in the psychiatric hospital for forced medical treatment. The criminal prosecution is at the finalization stage, the materials will be submitted to the parties", said Violina Moraru.
The crime remains the same - kidnapping of a minor. So far, no other crime has been found to have been committed against the child.
The case took place on October 9, when the 10-year-old boy, a native of a village in Anenii Noi district, disappeared while on his way to school. He was found in the evening of the same day, 7 kilometers from his home, on a marsh. The suspect, aged 49, was with the boy.
