The man who severely beat his boy and then hanged himself had a criminal case opened against him for domestic violence. Zinaida Ermurache, the mayor of Malcoci, where the incident happened, has told Info-Prim Neo that the relations between the man and his wife were hostile. The conflict arouse when the woman decided to move to live with another man. Two weeks ago, the woman left home together with their two children, one aged almost three and the other one younger than two. One evening, the man went to the woman and asked her to return home, but all in vein. As he hit his wife, a criminal case was stated against him for domestic violence. He took the youngest child with him at home in the hope that the woman will return. The mayor said the man wasn’t aggressive. On the contrary, he was ready to lend a hand, but suffered from depression lately. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, neurosurgeon Anatolie Litovchenko, of the Mother and Child Center, said the child is in an average gravity state. The boy was initially admitted to the reanimatology section as he was covered in bruises and the doctors suspected injury to the internal organs. But the examinations showed he had only traumatic head injury. He will stay in the hospital for about five days. The boy was hospitalized on February 24 after he was beaten by his inebriated father. The man was found hanged later the same day. This is the second case of child beating in less than a month. At the beginning of February, a five-year-old girl from Leova went into a coma after she was beaten cruelly by her father. She died in the hospital several days later.
