A 62-year-old man was rushed to hospital this morning after he inhaled fumes from fire. He fell asleep with the burning cigarette, which set the bedlinen and then other objects on fire, Ieronim Ciumas, medical vice director of the Chisinau Municipal Emergency Medical Assistance Station, has told Info-Prim Neo. Two young men aged 24 and 23 got poisoned with fumes from a faulty gas stove and were taken to hospital. All the three persons were admitted to Saint Trinity Hospital in Chisinau. The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service warns that smoking in bed and other inappropriate places is the leading cause of fires. Thirty-three persons were killed in fires this year as a result of reckless smoking.
