Man struck by train in Sângera

A 38-year-old man was hit by a train near Sângera town of the municipality of Chisinau. Rescuers were called out to extricate him from under the wagon. The man was rushed to the hospital.

The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations said the man was on the railways and didn’t react when the train was approaching. He got trapped under a wagon. Three teams of rescuers and firefighters were dispatched to the scene to take the man out.

He suffered serious leg injuries, but he is now out of danger. He was taken to the Chisinau Emergency Medicine for medical care.

Contacted by IPN for details, spokeswoman for the Institute Dorina Arsene said the patient suffered serious polytrauma, rib and shank fractures. He was urgently operated and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.
