A man with unknown identity has been hospitalized for hypothermia treatment after spending the last night in a rainwater puddle. Ludmila Untura, doctor coordinator of the Chisinau Emergency Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the man in his mid-forties was walking on Vadul lui Voda Street while being dead drunk and passed out in a puddle where he remained overnight. He was found in the morning around 7:00 and immediately admitted to the Emergency Hospital for treatment. A traffic accident occurred shortly before midnight, in which a speeding driver of an Audi car sustained severe injuries. The car aquaplaned on the rain-slicked road and ended up in a tree. As a result, the driver suffered head trauma, brain concussion, cerebral contusion, contusion of the thorax and spine, and fell into a coma, being admitted to the intensive care section if the Emergency Service. Over the past day and night, ambulance doctors responded to 666 emergency calls, involving 70 cases of acute viral diseases, 42 cases of trauma, 14 childbirths, 9 brain strokes and 29 cases of mumps.
