Man shot dead on Chisinau street

A man was shot dead on Alecu Russo Street in Chisinau this morning at around 5:00; the suspected perpetrator surrendered voluntarily to the police. Chisinau Police spokesman Adrian Jovmir has told Info-Prim Neo that the victim, 35, and the perpetrator, 23, had a fight at a night club and the shooting happened after they decided to take it outside. The police was called by witnesses. According to the preliminary investigation, the perpetrator shot several times the victim in the chest from a legally-possessed Baikal pistol. The victim died instantly. Shortly after the shooting the suspected perpetrator gave himself up to the police. The 23-year-old now faces from 8 to 15 years in jail.
