Man seriously injured in car accident

A 56-year-old man received severe bodily injuries in a traffic accident that happened at the intersection of Sfatul Tarii and Bucuresti streets in Chisinau on Tuesday evening. A Volvo ran into a minibus. Anatol Proca, coordinating doctor on guard at the Chisinau Emergency Medical Assistance Station, has told Info-Prim Neo that the driver of the Volvo suffered mental shock, contusion of the thorax and internal organs, fracture of five ribs and of the clavicle on the left side. He was rushed to the hospital. A healthy baby was born in the house of relatives of the parents. The woman who came to Chisinau from Pelenia village of Rascani district was at the third birth. The mother and baby were taken to the Mother and Child Hospital. An unidentified man in his 60s was found in midday on Independentei Street in alcoholic coma. He was transported to the Saint Trinity Hospital for detox. The Chisinau Emergency Medical Assistance Station on Tuesday had dealt with 707 calls, including 70 cases of trauma.
