Man killed in road accident caused by drunk driver

A 48-year-old man from Puhaсeni village of Anenii Noi district died in the hospital after he was seriously injured in a car accident on November 11. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Dana Andronic, press officer of the Traffic Police Division, said the man was struck by a car. The driver hid his car and then took the injured man to the hospital by another car. After that he went away. The police arrested him shortly afterward. The 30-year-old driver was drunk when the accident happened. The same evening, a passenger minibus collided with a truck on the Chisinau – Criuleni road, in Boscana village. The minibus driver and a number of passengers suffered fractures and traumatic brain injury. According to preliminary inquiries, the accident was caused by the minibus driver, who tried to illegally overtake a vehicle.
