Man killed in hit-and-run accident

A man was struck by a vehicle in a crosswalk on Dacia Blvd. in Chisinau on February 23. The driver left the place of the accident. Press officer of the Traffic Police Division Antonina Talpa has told Info-Prim Neo that the accident happened close to 9pm. The 24-year-old man from Chisinau was crossing the street when he was hit by a car. The injuries he received proved fatal. Two hours later, the police identified the Toyota Land Cruiser car and arrested the driver. He is a man aged 28 from Nisporeni district. He said he ran away because he was scared. The driver faces three to seven years in jail and will be banned from driving a vehicle for a period of up to four years.
