A man was killed and another one was injured in fires on Sunday, September 26. Emergencies Service spokeswoman Liliana Puscasu has told Info-Prim Neo that a 44-year-old man fell asleep with a burning cigarette in his house in Sculeni village of Ungheni district. The cigarette set the bedclothes and other things on fire. The man's body was found in the burned bed. Another man from Varzaresti, Nisporeni, tried to start a fire in a stove with a flammable solution and was burned by the flames. He received second- and third-degree burns on the hands, face and chest and was admitted to the Ungheni district hospital. As many as 115 persons have been killed in fires so far this year. Two of them were children.
