A 46-year-old man died following a traffic accident this morning, at around 6:00AM. The accident took place on the M-5 route, between the villages of Glinjeni and Chișcareni, the General Police Inspectorate reported.
A 10-year-old child who travelled in the car was hospitalized.
According to preliminary findings, the accident happened after a 22-year-old man swerved his car into incoming traffic, for reasons yet to be investigated, which resulted in a head-on collision with the other car.
Eugenia Molceanov, spokesperson for the Falesti Police, said that, like the injured child from the other car, the young driver was also taken to the Balti Hospital.
A criminal investigation is underway.
