A 64-year-old man was hurt when he was trying to steal components of electrical equipment from a substation belonging to Gas Natural Fenosa Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the company.
The man entered the transformer substation located at 7 Independentei St in Chisinau. He fell from a height of 1.2 meters and, touching a piece of the electrical equipment, caused a short circuit. As a result, a number of consumers remained without power. The man fractured his left leg and was admitted to the Chisinau Emergency Hospital.
An investigation is under way. The damage caused is yet to be established.
The administration of Gas Natural Fenosa Moldova warns that the people are banned from coming into contact with electrical equipment as this can have serious consequences for the power system and for the persons who break the security rules.
The power supplier can be informed about accidents or faults on 43-11-11.
