A man aged 74 with locomotor disabilities died in his apartment that caught fire in the morning of November 24. It happened in Kneazevka village of Leova district. The 112 service was called by the man’s sister-in-law.
Press officer of the Leova Police Inspectorate Cristina Ciobanu has told IPN that the woman looked after the man who was in a wheelchair. Today, when she went to visit him, she discovered the fire and called 112. Firemen found the man’s carbonized body.
It was preliminarily established that the fire started form a smoldering cigarette. No other apartments in the building were affected. The fire spread only to the external wall of the apartment.
