Man in alcoholic coma dies on the way to hospital

An unidentified man who had lain in the sun on Paris St in Chisinau for a period of time died on the way to the hospital. Silvia Babara, coordinating doctor at the Chisinau Ambulance Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the ambulance was called by passersby at about 15.30. The ambulance doctors established the man, in his 70s, was in an alcoholic coma. They could not save him as he died shortly afterward. A tree fell over the legs of two friends who were drinking beer in a square in Chisinau. One of them, 48, was hospitalized with an open fracture of the sole bones. His mate received minor injuries. A 35-year-old man was taken to the Emergency Hospital with broken ribs. He was drunk and wanted to enter his apartment on Grenoble St through the balcony. When on the second floor, he lost his balance and fell off. Yesterday and last night, the Chisinau Ambulance Service responded to 746 calls, dealing with 64 cases of acute viral infection, 74 cases of trauma, seven strokes and a heart attack.
