A man aged 56 from Edinet district was sentenced to life imprisonment for intentional murder, robbery and destruction of property. The sentence can be appealed to a higher court, IPN reports, quoting the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The prosecutors established that in September 2011, the culprit went to a settlement of Edinet district together with a co-villager by the latter’s car. On the way, the two started to quarrel over a plot of land. Knowing that the driver had a gun, the offender immobilized him and took his gun and then beat him to death.
In order to hide the crime, the culprit set the car where there was the victim inside on fire. The carbonized body of the victim was found the next day in an orchard near Cuconesti village. The man was 49.
