A culprit who, last November, profiting from the inattention of the police, escaped from the escort at the gates of the remand prison of Penitentiary No.11 in Balti, being shortly caught by a prosecutor, was sentenced to four years in jail for escape attempt, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the person was being escorted to the penitentiary after the court gave him 30 days of remand detention for rape, robbery and premeditated murder of a minor girl from Ungheni. When this evaded, a prosecutor who was outside the working hours, saw him and caught him immediately.
The man will soon start to also serve time in jail for the offenses of which he is accused.
Simultaneously, the Balti Prosecutor’s Office is to rule on the actions of the police officers responsible for the culprit’s escort.
