Man gets 9.5 years in jail for break-in

The organizer of a robbery who, two years ago, forced his entry into the house of a businessman from Ceadâr-Lunga together with another two individuals, robbing the family, was sentenced to nine years and a half in jail. The sentence can be appealed to a higher court, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, in January 2017, the three, being armed and with balaclavas, entered the home of a businessman. At that moment, the businessman wasn’t at home. There was only his wife with three minor children in the house. Threatening the woman, they told her to give then all their money. The victim showed where there was 800 lei, which the perpetrators took and left.

The three were arrested in almost a year. At the place of the robbery’s organizer, the police found and seized drugs and the gun used in the break-in. The man didn’t admit his guilt, but denounced the other two participants in the theft.

The other two aggressors accepted blame and were sentenced to six and respectively, seven years behind bars.
