A Briceni man, 49, was sentenced to 13 years in prison for domestic violence that led to the death of his wife.
The court heard that one night in December 2020 the man gave his wife a violent beating. The woman managed to escape and find refuge at her relatives, but later required hospitalization. Ten days after the incident, she died in hospital.
The man pleaded guilty. The sentence is appealable within 15 days.
