A 54-year-old man from Hancesti district was sentenced to 12 years in jail for raping two girls aged four and five, IPN reports.
In a communique, the Prosecutor General’s Office says that this June the offender lured the girls, who are neighbors, with candies into his house, where he sexually abused them, causing bodily injuries to them.
The mother of one of the girls found out about what happened and informed the police. The man was arrested the next day.
The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
