A man aged 28 was sentenced to 12 years in prison for murdering a former colleague, attacking a person and stealing goods to the value of 70,000 lei from a gas station situated in Balti municipality, where he worked earlier. The prosecutors appealed the decision to the Balti Court of Appeals, arguing the sentence is too mild, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office of Rascani district, the second man was attacked as the culprit wanted to eliminate a possible witness. But the victim put up resistance and escaped.
The prosecutors demand a punishment of 25 years in jail for murder, murder attempt and robbery.
