A man from Balti was sentenced to 12 years in jail for trafficking in human beings. The sentence was pronounced by the Balti Court, IPN reports, quoting the Prosecutor General’s Office.
In 2014, the man recruited a 26-year-old woman to whom he promised a well-paid job at a kindergarten in Athens, Greece. When the victim reached the destination, she had been forced to have sex for money during two weeks.
The woman managed to call the police in Athens and was placed in a rehabilitation center. Afterward, she was taken home.
