A man aged 32 from Ceadâr-Lunga was arrested because he blackmailed the partner of his ex-wife and obtained about 10,000 lei from this as a result of threats, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases, the man received the money from the partner of his ex-wife at the beginning of May based on an invented debt and following repeated threats, inclining with death, against this. The latter denounced him and the police arrested the man red-handed.
Three years ago, the man was convicted of domestic violence by the Comrat Court. He then tried to make his wife end the divorce proceedings and withdraw her child support claims. The man splashed gasoline in the house in which the two children of the couple were sleeping and threatened his wife he would set fire to the house. In two days of his conviction, the man violated the imposed restrictions and was convicted against in 2020.
The man was indicted for blackmail and was remanded in custody for 30 days.
