A man from Balti town aged 40 was stabbed by an unknown near the door of his apartment. Jana Molcheanov, press officer of the Balti Police Inspectorate, has told IPN that the man saw that somebody was forcing the door of his apartment and looked into the eye slit, but it was dark in the corridor and he saw no one there. He decided to open the door and was attacked.
The man was stabbed in the abdomen, being also wounded in the hand when he tried to put up resistance. The attacker ran away and no one saw him.
The incident happened in the evening of January 25. The stabbed man was admitted to the Balti Municipal Hospital. The attacker hasn’t been yet identified. This faces five to ten years in jail.
