A 43-year-old man from Lapusna village of Hancesti district died from carbon monoxide positioning in a house fire caused by a smoldering cigarette. The fire happened on January 23 at about 2pm, spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Dorina Sochirca has said. The sister-in-law of the deceased man told Info-Prim Neo's reporter that the man did not have a family and lived alone. In the morning, he went to visit his friends with whom he drank alcoholic beverages. He was still drunk when he returned home. He fell asleep with a burning cigarette, which caused the fire. His brother took him out, but he was already dead. Eight fires happened in Moldova yesterday and last night.
