The case of a man from Taraclia, who last autumn shot dead his business partner, was remitted to court. The man faces 12 to 20 years in jail or life imprisonment for intentional murder, IPN has learned from the Prosecutor General’s Office.

Last October, the 26-year-old suspect went together with the victim aged 31 to a field near Carbalia village of Vulcanesti district, where the latter was to convince himself that there was a sunflower field in which he invested 440,000 lei. The men started to quarrel over a debt. The suspect shot the victim from a gun held illegally and then hit him with an iron bar. In order to hide the crime, he buried the body in the field and threw the mobile phones.

In several days of the disappearance, the victim’s wife informed the police. The man’s car was found in Taraclia town. The body was discovered last November and the suspect was arrested shortly afterward. The prosecutors charged him with deliberate murder and illegal holding and bearing of firearms.

The case will be tried by the Vulcanesti court.
