Man dies in hospital after seriously injured in car accident

A driver died Wednesday in the Edinet district hospital shortly after his car was struck head-on by another car on the Edinet – Lopatnic road, not far from Gordinestii Noi village, Info-Prim Neo reports. Traffic Police Division spokeswoman Dana Andronic said the accident was caused by a 35-year-old man driving a Moskvich. He tried to illegally overtake a car, but lost control of his vehicle and crashed it into a VAZ. The 61-year-old driver of the VAZ died in the hospital. A man aged 23 suffered injuries when he ran his car into a tree. The speeding car skidded on the wet road. The driver of a Volkswagen Transporter aged 26 lost control of the minibus on the Ustia – Molovata road and crashed it into a tree. He sustained a cranial-cerebral trauma and a concussion. Three persons lost their lives in road accidents in Moldova on Wednesday and on Thursday night. Seven persons were hurt.
