A man plunged into the Prut with an excavator in the Costești-Stânca border area. The 61-year-old driver was rushed to the hospital, but didn’t survive.
Contacted by IPN for details, press officer of the Râșcani Police Inspectorate Ina Moscalciuc said the man was moving back with the excavator on the hillock in front of the quayside of the Borer Police at the Costești-Stânca customs post. At a certain moment, the bank caved in and the excavator overturned and fell into the river.
The driver was still alive and was taken to the Râșcani District Hospital by an ambulance, but could not be saved.
