Man dies after falling from roof

A man, 52, died on Friday after falling from an 8 meter-high roof of a house under construction in Chisinau’s suburbs. The fall was so serious that the man died instantly, a spokesperson for the Chisinau Emergency Service has told Info-Prim Neo. Another man, 59, was hospitalized after he fell from a second-floor balcony of an apartment house on Ginta Latina Street. The man was drunk when he climbed the balcony to trim a vine. As a result of the fall, he sustained an open fracture of the left lower leg, several broken ribs, blunt abdominal traumas and brain concussion. On Friday, the Chisinau Emergency Service responded to 690 cases, including the following: a woman, 29, gave birth to a girl while visiting friends; a nameless man, around 35, was found in the street in an alcoholic coma; and a 15-year-old girl took pills to commit suicide.
