Man dies after falling from 5th floor

A Chisinau man died after falling from the 5th story of a residential block on Independentei Street on Sunday around 9 PM. The Coordinating Doctor of the Chisinau Emergency Service, Ludmila Untura, told Info-Prim Neo that the man, 58, was heavily drunk – lost his balance and fell out of his apartment’s window. Another drunken man called the ambulance after his son-in-law stubbed him in the haunch. The man was admitted to the Emergency Hospital and the case is being investigated by the police. Three young men, 16, 17 and 19, all of them under influence, were hospitalized with head traumas and various bruises after a scuffle. The accident took place on 74 Albisoara Street at around PM 5.30. A 50-year old man attempted to commit suicide by drinking acetone. He was admitted to the “Sfanta Treime” Hospital for detox. If he survives, the man will likely have serious problems with the respiratory system and the alimentary tract. Over the past 24 hours the Chisinau Emergency Service received 656 calls, including 45 cases of viroses, 85 traumas, 8 cases of mumps and 4 brain strokes.
