A man from Comrat town aged 39 was sentenced to 15 years and three months in jail for violent acts of a sexual charter against five teenage girls from Basarabeasca. The verdict was given by the Cimișlia District Court, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the man was found guilty of two rape attempts and three perverse acts against girls aged between 12 and 16.
The man followed the victims on the street or at playgrounds and then lured them to isolated places. The victims told their parents about what happened. These alerted the police and the man was arrested. He was earlier convicted of similar offenses.
The sentence can be challenged in the Appeals Court.
