Man chokes to death on meat

A 45-year-old man from a Chisinau suburb died on Tuesday evening after choking on meat. The ambulance was called to Dobrogea town at about 22.00, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Eufalia Negreata, coordinating doctor at the Chisinau Emergency Hospital, a piece of meat got stuck in the manʼs trachea and there was no one nearby to help him. The first aid is very important in such cases. One should embrace the victim from behind and press sharply the upper part of the abdomen with one palm over the other. A man aged 59 felt suddenly sick while in a car. He died shortly after taken out of the car. The ambulance doctors presume he was suffering from a cardiovascular disease. The cause of death is being established. Another two men, aged 62 and, respectively, 73, were found dead by relatives at home. The men did not complain of health problems. An abandoned two-month baby was taken to the emergency station in Vadul lui Voda town. The child was hospitalized. The police are looking for the mother. Yesterday and last night, the Chisinau ambulance doctors responded to 775 calls, dealing with 70 cases of acute viral infections, 63 cases of trauma, six brain strokes and four myocardial infarctions.
