A man was arrested on suspicion that he earned lager incomes by smuggling money over Moldova’s borders. He collected US$500 to €1,000 for a transaction, IPN reports.
When he was arrested at the Vulcanesti border crossing point, the man had US$11,000 on him. The money was to be smuggled into Ukraine. It should be noted that the private individuals are obliged to declare in written form sums larger than €10,000 or their equivalent per person in customs posts when entering or leaving Moldova.
At the same border crossing point, investigation officers found a parcel of about 100 grams with packs of a dried vegetal substance looking like hemp was in a bus travelling on the Cahul-Bolgrad route. The packs were sealed up and sent to the examination center.
The individuals involved in the two cases face trials or fines.
