A man aged 33 was arrested for swindle attempt. More exactly, he took out loans with the identity card of another person. He will be held at Penitentiary No. 13 in Chisinau for 30 days, IPN reports.
According to the General Police Inspectorates, when he was arrested, the man, holding the identity card of another person, intended to raise a loan of 250,000 lei from a microfinance company based in Botanica district of Chisinau.
The police determined that the person to whom the identity card belonged was outside Moldova. Being contacted by phone, the man said that his identity card went missing about two years ago.
The suspect was earlier investigated for similar off senses and was wanted. It was determined that a number of loans totaling over 400,000 lei were obtained from different microfinance companies based in Chisinau in the name of the man to whom the identity card belonged during the last two months.
The swindler faces seven to ten years in jail.
