A young man from Hlina village of Briceni district was arrested on suspicion that he murdered an 82-year-old woman. The body of the woman was found in her house by employees of the mayor’s office who went to visit her, IPN reports.
The police established that the single woman was suffocated one day earlier by a co-villager aged 32, who broke into the victim’s house at night. Being inebriated, he attacked and asphyxiated the woman.
When being questioned by prosecutors, the man admitted his guilt. The young man was placed under arrest for 30 days, the Prosecutor General’s Office has said.
