The National Alternative Movement (MAN) and the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) are accusing each other of forming coalitions with the ruling party. According to MAN President Ion Ceban, PSRM and PAS have established an informal coalition in Chisinau that he claims works against the residents of the city and undermines "hundreds of projects for the capital’s citizens". In response, PSRM accused the municipal administration of manipulation and misinformation, and called Ion Ceban a liar, IPN reports.

Ion Ceban stated that PAS councilors left today’s Municipal Council of Chișinău (CMC) meeting, followed by PSRM councilors, thereby preventing a quorum. The meeting was set to vote on two critical projects for the capital: local taxes and the Chisinau municipal budget. "For these so-called people's representatives, personal interests come before the interests of Chisinau. To be clear, today in Balti, PAS and PSRM also left the municipality without a 2025 budget", added the MAN President.

In response, the Socialists condemned the manipulation and public misinformation allegedly conducted by the municipal authorities under Ion Ceban, whom they accuse of "blatant lies." According to PSRM, the same people, along with PAS, approved the Chișinău municipal budget in August and allocated budgetary funds non-transparently, ignoring the real needs of citizens. Now, they claim, those individuals are trying to play the victim by shifting responsibility onto each other in "a clear political game that does not benefit the residents of Chisinau".

PSRM also criticized Ion Ceban’s involvement in promoting the referendum on European integration, calling it "an example of how municipal authorities disregard the interests of citizens in favor of their own political ambitions".

The Socialists urged the authorities to stop spreading misinformation and to focus on solving the pressing problems of the people rather than promoting personal political agendas.
