A man aged 48 will stand trial for sexually abusing two minor sisters. The Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases completed the investigation and sent the case to court.
Prosecutor Dumitru Raileanu has told IPN that the parents of the minors were day workers at the accused man and allowed this to take, based on power of attorney, their elder daughter, who was then 13, to Russia, where he exploited her sexually. The man also sexually abused the couple’s younger daughter aged 9. It happened in 2014-2016. Now the eldest of the sisters is 15, while the youngest is 11.
Contacted by IPN, Natalia Bayram, lawyer of the International Center for Women Rights Protection and Promotion “La Strada”, said the elder girl was first raped when she was only 13. This was possible with the encouragement of her mother, who lured her into the man’s house and constrained her psychologically to have sex with him.
The man, who is divorced, has two daughters whose age is similar to that of his victims.
“It is evident that the family lived in the community and it is regrettable that neither the social worker nor the sector police officer, family doctor or mayor as the tutelage authority sounded the alarm when the girt started to miss classes. The teacher also didn’t notice behavioral changes in her and the case was thus identified in two years of the abuse,” stated Natalia Bayram.
The eldest girl is pregnant, but refuses psychological assistance and is not aware that what happened to her is incorrect. She started to experience a powerful Stockholm syndrome, when the victim begins to sympathize with the abuser. The youngest girl was placed in a rehabilitation center, where a team of specialists work with her.
According to prosecutors, in 2014 –2016 the accused recruited two minor sisters from a socially deprived family and lodged them at the place of a relative of his on the pretext of looking after them. In reality, he abused them sexually, luring them with presents. The suspect was arrested at his home in Anenii Noi distrust and is now held on remand. He was charged with trafficking in children, luring of minors for sexual purposes, sexual intercourse with minors and child pornography.
